Running for Recess!
5k Fun Run
MAY 30, 2015
Please join our friends EREEF and Occidental College as they host the 2nd Annual 5k Fun Run to promote physical fitness at Eagle Rock Elementary and in the general Community. All monies raised will go back to the ERE.
The 3.1 mile course starts and ends at Eagle Rock Elementary and takes all racers through the beautiful campus of our neighbors at Occidental College. All participants receive a custom designed t-shirt, finisher's gift, and other goodies!
Students at Eagle Rock Elementary run free with a paid adult entry. This is a NON-TIMED EVENT and all walkers and runners are welcome!
EREEF is a non-profit foundation established to raise money benefiting schoolwide educational programs, arts and health enrichment programs, campus improvements, and addressing needs created by budget shortfalls. The foundation is madeup of volunteer parents, teachers and staff who generously give their time and resources for the betterment of all ERE children. EREEF works closely with the PTA, the administration, and teachers to raise much needed funds ensuring that all students receive an exceptional educational experience.
What EREEF has accomplished:
EREEF Fundraising Goals
EREEF's fundraising targets are determined through agreement with PTA, faculty, and parents. EREEF is also currently partnering with ERGO to green the campus. The foundation continues to fund technology updates, arts enrichment, and basic classroom needs. The goal is to bring all classrooms up to date with proper educational tools and technology, and to provide a rich, safe, and nurturing school for all ERE students.
The Eagle Rock Community
Eagle Rock Elementary School, part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, educates nearly 900 children, from grades K through 6. ERE is one of the last elementary schools in LAUSD to offer 6th grade. ERE students are as culturally diverse as our community, and ERE parents are as involved in the school as they are in the Eagle Rock community. Eagle Rock prides itself in retaining a "small town" feel amidst a larger urban city. ERE reflects that small town feel even though it is a large campus. By working together the students and teachers have achieved the special designation of being a Blue Ribbon School and acheived an “API” of 887 in 2013.
How EREEF works
The foundation is fortunate to be a project of Community Partners, which provides the nonprofit umbrella it works under nonprofits. They give us EREEF nonprofit status as a registered 501(c)3 organization, with the tax id number 95-4302067.
EREEF needs your support! New board members and volunteers are welcome all the time. Contact the foundation at firstname.lastname@example.org or by leaving a message at (323)206-4134.
